The rain date is August 10th. This vigil is to remember those we lost through drug overdose, and to give hope to those still struggling with addiction. It also aims to build community and solidarity among people who believe that overdoses are preventable. Our hope is that the vigil will create awareness around the need for restoration of funds to drug treatment and prevention, and the importance of providing overdose prevention education in our communities. All too often, people who suffer fatal overdose are seen as deserving of their fate. We encourage people to join us in trying to discard the stigma around fatal overdose and remember that we have truly lost friends, family, wives, husbands and community.
