Highlights from the Special Saugus Town Meeting include the passing of articles to give the School Department $465,296 (a quarter of a million more than the Finance Committee recommended at the expense of the debt reserve fund, but less than what the School Committee wanted); $280,486 to the Northeast Regional School; $57,796 to purchase two marked police cruisers; $50,000 to purchase fire apparatus and equipment; and $17,000 to fund an override election to possibly provide for more money for the schools.
