Shutdown of a Saugus water meter at Walnut Street and Elm Street to the MWRA system on Tuesday, June 2nd may cause discolored water for a 1-3 day period in the immediate neighborhood. MWRA is replacing a water valve. If discolored water does occur, it will result from a small amount of iron in the pipes. While safe for drinking, cooking and other uses, please note that iron will stain light colored items in your laundry, especially when bleach is used. Therefore, Saugus residents near this location should check water clarity before washing any white or lighter colored laundry during this period of work.

The Saugus Housing Authority Meeting will be at 6:00 PM in the Heritage Heights Conference Room.

The Saugus Historical Commission Meeting will be at 6:30 PM in the Local History Room of the Saugus Public Library.

Cocktail hour begins at 6:00 PM, dinner to be served at approximately 7:00 PM. Dinner is a choice of Grilled Marinated Flank Steak, New England Baked Schrod, or Roasted Herb Chicken Breast.

The Saugus Historical Society's Annual Strawberry Festival will be held at the First Parish Unitarian-Universalist Church across from the Historical Society House on 30 Main St. Besides the strawberry shortcake, there will be hot dogs and beverages as well as craft tables, flea market / yard sale tables, and a plant table.

Congregation Ahavas Sholom will be holding a Friday night service on June 25, 2004, commencing at 8:00 p.m. Prior to the service, there will be a meeting of the congregation, commencing at 7:00 p.m., to which all members are invited to attend.
