Saugus Historical Society business issues will be discussed. Interested members of the general public are welcome.

Sponsored by Flotilla 4-9 of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary, this 6 week course will be offered on Tuesday nights. The course will teach Boat handling, Seamanship, Rules of the Road, and Basic Navigation. The Auxiliary will also offer 2 additional courses after completion of the Safety Course, including 3 weeks of Piloting, and a 1 night course on GPS (Global Positional Satellite) along with principles and fundamentals. The Saugus Housing Authority Meeting will be at 6:00 PM in the Heritage Heights Conference Room.

The Historical Society will be honoring its Honorary Members at this meeting. Also, Dr. Alan Seaburg will be giving a lecture on Frederic Tudor, "The Ice King".

Inspired by twelve little men who took Saugus, Massachusetts on a ride for the ages, a group of people have taken the initiative to honor this gallant team. With only one full size baseball diamond in Saugus, a committee has been formed to reconstruct the Belmonte Middle School field. The committee is dedicated to creating a state of the art baseball facility by using artificial turf, fencing in the field, and installing lights. Other upgrades will be cement dugouts, a scoreboard, and a snack bar. This undertaking will be great, but the reward will be even greater. Please join us March 27th at the town hall to raise money for this exciting event. Donated items (gift certificates, electronics, etc.) will be raffled off and an auction will be held for larger items (Patriot tickets, autographed memorabilia, etc.). Refreshments will also be served.
