The House

"Ding-Dong" the doorbell sang as my long blond hair flew behind me and my long legs raced for the candy bowl. "Tegan!" my mom yelled, "Don't run in the house I don't want you to trip!"

It was musty and as foggy as if someone had put dry ice on the whole town of Cary, it was Halloween night. My best friend, Mallory, and I got dared at school to go up to the creepiest house in the whole state of Illinois!

Before we knew it we were trotting down the street ringing doorbells as we went and saying the three magic words as we went, "trick or treat", we went to all the houses possible before we went to the house.

We had gone to all the houses in the neighborhood except one, it was time to approach the house it was 12:00, midnight, we were as scared as ever! We were walking as if we were hypnotized just staring at the front door as slow as we could go! Our hands were pounding on the door we just wanted to be done. A shadow appeared in the window the door slowly opened "CCRREEKK!" "AHHHHHHHHH!" One scream and we never saw daylight again!
