Old Mrs. Bloodless in Witch's Web

Once there was an old lady named Maria Schminer. Mysteriously, it seemed as if Maria Schminer did not have any blood in her body, only skin. So, everybody called her Mrs. Bloodless. Mrs. Bloodless lived in a big house at the corner of Witches Ville, in Halloweentown. In front of her house lived a nine year old girl named Minny. Minny never wanted to stay in Halloweentown, but since her mother was a witch, she had no choice. It also proved to be handy since she managed to sneak in some magic portions, charms etc from her mother’s cupboards when her mother wasn’t looking. Minny didn’t know Mrs. Bloodless; however the other neighbors warned her and said the less you know about Mrs. Bloodless, the better.

Now, Minny was the kind of girl who always wanted to go on an adventure. One night Minny asked her Mom if she could go visit some of their neighbors. Fortunately, her Mom said yes. So without a moment’s hesitation, Minny packed her backpack with her survival kit consisting of some coconut eyeballs, pumpkin heads, and some sour bloodpillars, in case she got hurt. Along with those she also took a whole case of sweet pigs (little candy squares) and stole a bottle of teeth-struck punch from her mother’s cupboard. Once she was done packing food, she packed 14 magical explosives. Minny got ready and just as she was about to charge out of the door, her Mom said, “Be back before midnight Minny.”

Once she got out of her house, Minny walked to her friend Jim’s house. She asked him if he wanted to visit Mrs. Bloodless. Jim was always ready for adventure, so he said he would meet Minny in ten minutes by Mrs. Bloodless’s front porch. Next, Minny walked to Jenny Heartburn’s house. Jenny was a cheerleader in Spookster Academy, so Minny wasn’t sure if she was back from practice yet. Fortunately, it was Jenny who answered the doorbell. Minny asked her if she wanted to go to Mrs. Bloodless’s house. Normally, Jenny was very cautious and would have said no to any adventure that involved danger. But this time she said yes. So Minny said, “I would meet you in 10 minutes by Mrs. Bloodless’s front porch.”

Minny reached Mrs. Bloodless’s house and waited on the porch. She waited ten, fifteen then twenty whole minutes; there was no sign of her friends. She was almost afraid that they had met with some trouble when she saw two flashlights shining on the road. It was Jenny and Jim.

“Hey don’t worry, it is just us.” said Jim, “We got hungry and stopped at Baney Queen’s ice cream shop for ice cream. We even got you a double blood-bottler.”

Minny licked her ice cream and said, “Hurry up! Let’s not waste any more time. It’s already 8.30 pm and we haven’t even gotten into the house.” Minny pulled her friends forward. They walked to Mrs. Bloodless’s door and Jim rang the doorbell. Instead of the door opening, there was a shriek and a handful of a black, dust like substance got into their eyes. They didn’t know how long they were unconscious until Minny woke up. She found that they were in an old, rusty dungeon. Minny quickly found the others and also her backpack. She woke them up and told them they were prisoners.

Both Jim and Jenny were shocked initially. Then Minny said, “I don’t know about you but I am already hungry. Time for a light snack.” She opened her backpack and took out the case of sweet pigs, some pumpkin heads and her bottle of teeth-struck punch along with some glasses. She offered the food to her friends and just as they were finishing up, Jenny thought she head a voice. At first, they thought it was a witch’s screeching voice. But it was much softer. Then it got louder and they could make out an old lady’s voice screaming.

But Jim said, “What can we do? We are trapped too. Unless we get out, we cannot help anyone either.”

In the meantime Minny was busy working on the lock with a stick she found at the dungeon. She packed the lock with her mother’s coconut eyeballs and stuffed it with some magic explosives. Jim and Jenny were still arguing when the heard a soft poof!!! They turned to see that Minny had blown the lock apart. They were surprised at Minny’s talent, but Minny merely whispered, “Let’s go and help the old lady screaming for help.”

They cleaned up their dinner crumbs and started following the voice. “This way everybody, I am 100% sure this is the path.” Minny said. Finally, they came to a room where they saw an old skinny woman tied to a bench. They quickly untied the old lady. She tried to get up but fell down on the bench. Minny gave her some teeth-struck punch left over from their snack.

The woman slowly started speaking, “My name is Maria Schminer. Most people call me Mrs. Bloodless. I was trapped here by a wicked witch named Cornelia Skinnybones. You should try to catch her. That greedy witch wanted to steal the “Witches Wand” from me so that she could get hold of everybody’s properties and make them her own.” Mrs. Bloodless coughed, so Minny gave her some more punch.

“I thought you are a witch. That is why no one wants to talk to you,” said Jenny.

“I am a good witch. I never harm anyone. Cornelia Skinnybones captured me and forced me to play nasty tricks on the neighbors,” replied Mrs. Bloodless.

Suddenly, they heard a creaky voice at the door. It was the greedy witch. She was coming to capture the four of them again. Jim picked up a stick and threw it at the witch just as she was going to grab Jim. The stick still had bits of coconut and explosives sticking to it.

“Ahh!!! My eyes are hurting”, cried the wicked witch as she threw her broom on the floor. Just then Minny had a great idea. She grabbed the broom and signaled her friends

to get on the broom along with Mrs. Bloodless. Then she hopped on it and they flew out of the door. The witch thought could not see, had heard what had happened. She took another broom and flew off after them. Jenny was sitting at the back end of the broom. She saw the witch behind them.

“The wicked witch is right behind and she is gaining on us!!!!!” Jenny shouted.

Minny then had another idea. She told her friends to jump as soon as she said “Go”. The witch was only a few inches behind them now. She was about to jump on to Minny’s broom. Minny shouted “Go” and all four of them tumbled off the broom and landed in Minny’s front lawn.

Now the wicked witch was on Minny’s broom. Minny had packed the broom with more magical explosives before leaving. As soon as Minny and her friends landed safely, she set off the explosives on the broom. The wicked witch fell off the broom and landed right in the middle of Halloweentown Police Department.

The police captured the wicked witch Cornelia Skinnybones and locked her up for life. Mrs. Bloodless thanked the three children for saving her life and returned home. She promised to be a good neighbor and always welcomed children to her house, especially during Halloween!!!
