GREAT pictures...mthank you for sharing with everyone. My grandparents, Peter and Mary Smith, lived on Golden Hills Rd in the 1930's. I can remember the wonderful July 4th celebrations held across from the Waybrights when I was a small child and the great blueberry picking up near the high tension wires. For a short time, my family lived near what was then called Second and Third Lake. There was a small park originally dedicated to my uncle, Joseph Smith, the first person from the area killed at Guadalcanal in World War II. I don't know if the park is still there but I believe the name changed quite some time ago. I can't remember exactly when the last family member left the area but I think it may have been around the late 1950's, early 60's. Other names from the area that I remember are the Maher family, White, and Waybright. My uncle probably remembers lots more since he grew up there. Would love hearing from anyone still living or had family in that area from the 30's to the late 50's. You can write to me direct at smith27 at alltel dot net.
