What a great website. Spent an hour or more going thru
it. I used to live on Summer St. near the stadium.
Graduated from St. Mary's class of 47. My wife Lois
(Marshall) Seely graduated from SHS class of 48. She has
relatives who still live in Cliftondale, Marilyn Falasca,
her husband Ed who was captain of the football team 1948?
He was also Chief of the fire dept in cliftondale until
his retirement several years ago. We now make our home in
Jacksonville Fl.I saw several names I recognized. One was
Grayce Chapman. She probably doesn't remember me . We
once flew together form Logan to D.C., returning to our
military assignment from leave. She was in the Army, I
the navy. Some of my friends from summer st. were Ed
Claflin, the Hussy bros, George and Richard, the
Spencer's, Paul and Jerry, the Prentices Jack and
Charlie, Charlie Green whom I saw at Betty Conlon's
reunion last April in St. Augustine. Another name I
should mention was Edna Winslow, who was a Saugus icon
until her passing a few years ago.
My Father worked at Ace Welding, back then where they
made equipment for the Govt. during the war. The owners
at that time were Jimmy Saco, and Tom Maher. I better
wrap this up as I could write a lot more. Anyone from
Saugus in welcome to contact me. Joe Seely
