Hi everyone
What a great web site! My name is Judy "McGilvray"
Maunsell... I was in the Class of "61". You are probably
not going to remember me as I was the class wall flower.
To tall to skinny and very very very shy. Some would
probably remember me as "Olive Oil" tho. There are
several people that I remember as I scroll this web page.
The memories of long ago are brought back so clear by
several of you who have responed to this web page. First
of all Skippy Gorman! I think I have a photo of you and I
at Canobie Lake. The year was 1948! I was 5 years old and
you were probably 6 or 7 years older then I. If it is you
your mothers name began with a G. something like
"Gussie". I think she might have worked at the drug store
in Saugus Center. I moved to Hawaii last July and finally
sold my house the old homestead on Appleton St. I
remember looking at this picture before I left Saugus as
I was sorting out all thease pictures of a life time and
looked at this picture of 2 children sitting together on
a summer day in time. I rememberd your name as Skippy and
remembered that you were told to put your arm around my
neck. I remember being shy and my father telling me to
smile. Well if it is you send me an e-mail at
"pmauns@aol.com" and I will copy it and send it to you.
Its funny how you remember things from so long ago.
I know this persons name was "Skippy Gorman". Im pretty
sure its you as my family new yours. Now for Janice
Tomeo. Im sure i must no you as you grew up on Summer
Drive. I remember Ace Welding very well and will get the
information about what they actually did produce. Im not
sure my self but remember it very well.
For Robert Crosby! If you come over to Maui please get in
touch with us. I remember "Skink Hanson" very well as a
child. My father told me he Was at one time a very good
friend of Skinks when they were young. I remember him
down in saugus center like it was yesterday. Do I know
you tho? Your name sounds very fimiliar. Im sure there
are many things that we remember and its always fun to
remember. The book that John Burns wrote
A
Gathering Of Memories is the best! I bought it
at Founders Day last year and read it on the plane back
to Maui. I was overwhelmed at all the memories that came
flooding back to me from long ago.
Some of my best memories tho are from the dances at the
Vets School on Hurd Avenue. Remember when Arnie Ginsburg
was there one Saturday night? Im not sure of the year but
I think it was 1961. Danny Driscoll "Class of 59" came
back to one of those dances after he graduated and all
the girls when wild. Gosh he was cute!!!!!!! Of course I
was only watching from the side lines but "the Wall
Flower" took it all in.
Hope to see lots of my class mates at the 61 reunion in
Sept.
That all for now but will kept trying to remember long
ago memories!
