Found the site a few months ago and it brought back years of memories. Graduated in 72. Went in the Air Force in 74. Got stationed here in NW Fla have been here ever since. Got married here raised five kids here. But Saugus is and always will be home. Even though I havent been there in a long time my wife and kids had a chance to see what it is like. Hope to go back for a vist someday soon.

I am originally from Saugus, Mass. I lived on Vicnent Street in Saugus unitl I was 13. I now reside in Christiansburg, Va which is next door to Blacksburg, Va, home of Va Tech.

My oldest daughter is a graduate of Tech and my son-in-law is a graduate of Va Tech from the Engineering Dept.

I was so saddened by the event that unfolded here this week. I was very surprised to hear that one of the sudents killed inthe massacre was from my home town of Saugus.

Ross Abdaliah Almedddine, who was just 20 years old lost his life in this terrible incident. I wanted to express my depest sympathy to his mothere Lynette Alameddine.

You will be in my prayers and thoughts.

Hello all, I would have been with the graduating class of 1986, but had to leave right before graduation. I go back to visit my dad once a year ususally, he is still atop the hill behind Cliftondale Square. I still love it there. I didn't appreciate the beauty of Massachusetts until I moved to Virginia. All the homes look the same around here.

I came across your website and have enjoyed "catching up" with others' posts. I graduated in 1968, still live and Saugus and would love to hear from others who may remember me.

Keep up the good work!

I grew up on Webb Place, behind the railroad station. Have been looking for a picture of the house where we lived. The house was razed many years ago,I do not know the year. If by any chance someone might have a picture of the property I would really like a copy of it. Pictures I found do not show enough of the house.

Hi Saugus, Every once in a while I look at the Saugus net just to get a boost in the heart. I do return three or so times a year to visit. My mother Hazel Rogers (she owned the Rogers' Treasure Chest in Clifdendale square)is in an Alzheimer home in Lynfield (Sunrise). My brother George "Buck" Rogers also lives in Lynnfield with his wife Nancy (Orlando) class of 1969. Buck graduated from St John's Prep (class of 1967). They live between Lynnfield and Jupiter Florida. As for me, I have no home. (oh my I am homeless) I actually spend some time in Brighton Il where my daughter, her husband and my three granddaughters live.My son Steven was killed by a drunk driver in 1991 when he was 18 years young. I was married for 32 years to my sailor husband Don Lennon. He passed away in 2000. I have been working on cruise ships since the early 1990's. I continue to do so. I had my own business for over 20 years in the Seattle Washington area. I am a professional seamstress. I continue in that profession on cruise ships. I contract out to Holland America working on the dancers and singers costumes on board their ships. I LOVE IT. I also work as a hostess for groups on cruise ships. My companion lives in Canada. What a life I have. BUT my roots will always be in Saugus. If there is anyone out there who remembers me please email me at loielennon@yahoo.com I am looking for Shirley Dubuque (Lawrence married name) class of 1964. She was my maid of honor. Until I have the pleasure to return to Saugus, I will be on the high seas. Loie Lennon (Rogers) class of 1964

I just finished reading "Of Time and the River" which I received for a Christmas present from my wife Sandy. She remembers my reminiscing about John Burns and Bill Regan who were my High School English teachers. I have to say that they stand out as the most memorable educators in my life. I appreciate the gift of writing that they were responsible for. "The River" helped me remember John Burns. I'm also going to get the "Gathering of Memories" after the new year. Oh well, off to soccer for daughter number two.

Hello Fellow Sachems:

It has been more than thirty years since I left Saugus. Although, having spent the first 24 years of my life, living among you I have always carried memories of you with me.

I have been married to the same woman for twenty six years. I have one child a twenty five year old daughter. I live in the extreme northwestern corner of the City of Los Angeles, Between West Hills and Calabasas, about six miles from Malibu. I ran my first Marathon this past spring. Had some bumps in the road since then, but life is good and am looking forward to allot more of it.

I am originally from Saugus, my maiden name was Horne and I lived on Walden Pond Ave off of Walnut Street. My mom still lives there. I graduated from SHS the class of 1974 I live about 45 miles west of Washington DC and I have lived here since 1981 when my first husband's job brought us down here. I have been married now for 21 years. My husband was born and raised here, a country boy, so it is almost imposssible to imagine that I would ever be able to move back home. It just seems that the older I get the more I would like to move back. I miss Route l a lot. It is nice here, but it isn't home. I forgot to mention that I have 5 kids ages 20,19,17 12 and 11. I drive a school bus for Montgomery County Public Schools which is the county that I live in. One of the things that they do different down here is that everything pretty much goes by the county as opposed to town by town and so on. I came across this website actually by accident looking for a fall picture of saugus or of the Walden Pond Resavoir that I could use as wallpaper on my desktop. Sincerely, Elaine Horne Pearre

Almost recuperated from our trip out east for the Class of 1961 reunion held at the Holiday Inn in Peabody.Thought I'd take a little time to thank the members who worked so hard to make the reunion such a success. It was great to see faces I hadn't seen in all these long years and rehash some old memories. Our trip out took place in our vintage Pontiac wagon that, although plagued by a few problems, managed to get us there in one piece. I'm still having a real problem with the traffic and have finally concluded why most drivers don't signal for lane changes(usually two or three at a time):Their left hands are usually holding a cel phone! In all fairness, that is a problem today not exactly unique to Massachusetts. My son had co-ordinated a nice surprise for us:he had arranged a get together with a couple of the foster children my ex-wife and I had cared for. They are now young adults with families of their own.A most pleasant surprise. Naturally there was not enough time to visit everyone we wanted to see and all too soon it was time to head home again. That was a whole adventure in itself. We took the northern route back as we were planning to stop at the home of my wife's half-sister whom she hadn't seen in nearly 40 years. It was one lane and raining for a goodly portion of the way and past Corning NY the rain turned to snow(the heavy type). My 50 year old car has a marginal(let that read non-existent)heater/defroster and the windshield wipers are cable operated and spastic at best.Driving nearly 50 miles through a snowstorm on one lane(the other covered with snow)and seeing perhaps 5 or 6 cars(one in a ditch)was not the most pleasing thing I've done recently but we finally made it. We arrived home late Saturday night and the sign,"Welcome to Tecumseh"never looked better. This week has been playing catch up on all the work I postponed and I think I'm finally seeing the light. It was great to see old friends and familiar places(some now not-so-familiar)but even better to be home.See you all in five years!
