The snow is just starting to fall here this afternoon and I took a break from working in the shop to see what is new in the old home town.
My wife and I attended the 1961 class reunion and had a fantastic time. Kudos to all who made it such a success and especially Jane Laskey Lancaster and Henrietta LaBorde Belyea;you did a bang up job.
Unfortunately we had to cut our visit a bit short due to prior commitments I had here.We did get to see my grandson Jacob and give him the miniature race car I had built for him. Took him about 5 minutes to learn how to drive it around without hitting anything substantial and he will turn 3 in January.
We also got to see several of our foster children that were with us so long ago. My ex-wife and son rounded them up for a party on Saturday following the reunion. Some I hadn't seen in 20 years.A great time.
If anything was not so good; it was trying to cope with the volume of traffic that seems to have appeared over the years. The biggest traffic problem we have here is Race Weekend (Michigan Int'l Speedway is 15 miles from us) and even that pales in comparison to everyday traffic in Saugus. I don't know how you cope with it.
Anyway we had a great time and when New Year's Eve (our anniversary) comes around we will raise a glass to all our friends, relatives, and classmates in fond remembrance of a great time that was all too brief.
Merry Christmas to all!
