Finally recuperated from our trip out to the East Coast and thought I'd drop a few thoughts on you. Had a great time at the Founder's Day celebration even though I managed to lose my wife for almost an hour.Saw a few old friends(including Bill Diotte)and a whole slew of people having a really great time!Got some T-shirts(autographed of course)for the grandchildren and enjoyed some good food. We manage to log almost 2,700 miles on my vintage 1955 Pontiac wagon in the space of a week and a half with the only problem being a minor fuel leak that was quickly remedied.I still have a hard time dealing with the amount of traffic in the area(and the fact that nearly everyone drives at near 100 MPH while conversing on their cel phones! I believe that the easiest way to cure the daily traffic jams is to enact a law similar to the recently enacted NY law imposing heavy fines and license suspensions for using a cel phone while driving:Inside of a month about half the drivers in the state would have no licenses! Anyhow we had a great time seeing old friends and dining at the Hilltop and Kelly's with an excursion to Kane's for one of their infamous coffee rolls. It took us 3 days to finish it! Paid a visit to Riverside to visit with some friends and relatives who aren't able to enjoy the beautiful days and festivities first-hand as we are able to do. Drove around through the streets kind of aimlessly just remembering the good(and not so good)times I used to have.Probably the most enjoyable part of my stay. Met a fellow pinstriper/sign artist who just moved to Massachusetts several weeks ago from San Diego California and in the course of our conversation found out he had married a girl from Saugus that I knew!(Donna Cann)What are the odds of that happening! Had some ongoing problems with the vision in one of my eyes that was attended to at Lahey Clinic and it is actually getting better(after nearly 2 months of misdiagnoses and stumbling by local doctors). They still don't know what caused it but the medication they prescribed is working! Then all too soon it was time to leave and we saddled up at 10 AM on Sunday morning and I drove straight through to Michigan arriving home about 2:30 AM Monday morning.Unpacked the car, drank a cup of coffee while checking my mail and phone messages, got ready for bed, took an issue of AutoWeek to read and promptly fell asleep! Woke up at 8:30 AM,walked the dog(she had a great trip with us)and finished cleaning up the car and went off to paint a car and so it begins again......
