January 27, 2006

We've made some internal updates to the various aggregation files kept here (like the general Saugus one, the Saugus forums one, etc.). Please note that these aren't meant to be used with a regular browser; rather they are meant to be used with an RSS aggregator application (you can find some available for free from the Free Software page).

January 26, 2006

The Guide to Free Software was updated today.

January 25, 2006

The final batch of Saugus Historical Society calendars has been brought out for distribution (this final group went to the Saugus Public Library). If you've not yet gotten your copy, you should try and get one soon as they're starting to run out everywhere.

January 24, 2006

The Saugus business Park Press Printers had its site updated today.

January 23, 2006

The Halloween Ghost Story Contest has been removed from the sidebar. It'll return in half a year or so.

January 20, 2006

The new Newton book reader extension for Firefox continues to be popular. It's now had over 1,000 downloads. With it you can read all the free books available on sites like Newton's Library.

January 19, 2006

The print run of the Saugus Historical Society calendars has finished and they're all assembled. Come tomorrow, they'll all have been divided up among the various distribution sites. This means that now as places run out, they won't be getting any more. This also means if you haven't gotten your copy yet, you should probably grab one at your next opportunity as they'll be gone soon.

January 18, 2006

The Saugus Housing Authority site was updated today.

January 17, 2006

The new Newton book reader extension for Firefox available from Newton's Library was downloaded nearly 900 times this past weekend. There's a new version available now, so if you tried it and got annoyed by the "Unresponsive Script Warnings" on slower computers and/or bigger books, you should get the newer version as that particular problem has been fixed.

January 16, 2006

The office will be closed today for the holiday. However, the Community Events Calendar, Saugus Forums, and other like pages will continue to be updated. Calendars will still be available at the various sponsors' sites (in addition to those town buildings like the Public Safety Building and DPW Building that are still open).

January 13, 2006

Quite a few places have already started running out of the annual Saugus calendars; they're still being produced, but not quickly enough to keep up with demand. If you're looking for one during the weekend, remember that you can pick one up at the Saugus Public Library and at many of the sponsors' sites even when the Town Hall is closed.

January 12, 2006

The Saugus Historical Commission site was updated today.

January 11, 2006

The Newton's Library site has a new feature that'll help out all those who've found interesting Newton books before but haven't been able to do with them. It's a Newton book reader extension that works with your browser to display Newton book contents. It requires Firefox, but if you're still using an old, non-standards-compliant browser, you can upgrade to Firefox via the button on the sidebar.

January 10, 2006

The search facilities on two Saugus sites, Newton's Library and ShellTown, were updated today.

January 9, 2006

The Saugus Building Committee site was updated today.

January 6, 2006

The annual Saugus calendars are out in quantity; over a thousand have already been delivered to the Saugus Public Library, Saugus Town Hall, and the various sponsors' sites, but even still some places have not been able to keep up with demand. Places that have run out will be restocked on Monday or Tuesday so if you haven't been able to get a calendar yet you should be able to get one next week.

January 5, 2006

We've fixed a reported glitch with the Saugus Forums; if you were having trouble posting messages before, you may want to try again now.

January 4, 2006

While yesterday we reported that perhaps a few dozen of the annual Saugus Historical Society Calendars had already been distributed, today we can say that a few hundred more have joined them. Hundreds more should be getting distributed each day until they eventually all run out; they'll be available at all the various calendar sponsors' sites plus places like the Saugus Public Library and Saugus Town Hall.

January 3, 2006

We're told that small quantities of the annual Saugus Historical Society Calendar have already made their way out of Park Press Printers, and that some people even had copies as early as last Friday. We expect that pretty soon they will start arriving in quantity in all the usual places; we'll keep you informed.

January 2, 2006

The office will be closed today for the holiday. However, the Community Events Calendar, Saugus Forums, and other like pages will continue to be updated.
