Come start the new year resolution to get more exercise by joining us for guided hikes in the reservation of varying difficulty. After your hike, join us for free Kelley's clam chowder, coffee and cocoa around a oaring fire. While there is no charge for the event, a donation of nonperishable food for our food rpantry program would be greatly appreciated.

Join us at the Long Hill Horticultural Center as we explore how to apply green innovations for your garden and landscape sound exciting in our own yards. Learn the latest innovations and how to use them at Marie Stella's new lecture "The Sustainable Landscape." Discover how to maximize your garden's ability to clean air, soil, and water, and restore ecological systems. Stella will discuss dry gardening, plant buffer zones, water management and the permeable ground plane, mulches, the green eco roof, rainwater harvesting, lawns, invasive plants, and swimming pools without chemicals. This lecture will give you practical lessons on landscaping with environmental awareness, fun ideas to try at home, and an understanding of the complex system at work in your landscape. Refreshments served at 6:30 pm. Marie Stella, MA, MS, is a landscape historian and designer, a teacher at The Landscape Institute, Arnold Arboretum, The New York Botanical Garden, and Tower Hill Botanical Garden.
