This has been an interesting (and obviously hard) year regarding the town budget, and although Saugus Town Meeting did finally approve a balanced one, it did involve some cuts, and the needs of the schools and the library (both arguably educational resources) were weighed one against the other. What are your feelings towards education in Saugus and Saugus politics more generally? You can express your views in the Saugus forums.

Saugus Town Meeting highlights include the passing of both a minimal public library budget of $276,000 (that'll allow it to be open part time) and a smaller-than-desired public schools budget ($21,140,824 when $24.2 million was requested). Both departments will be seeing cuts. The budgets for most of the town-side departments have not been yet addressed.
