Join us for a two hour workshop led by Yetti Frenkel, during which we will write a haiku poem and create an illustrated card. The theme is fathers, being one, having one, and how we love all they do for us. This is an intergenerational workshop, so parents and children can each make a card, or work together on a single creation. The workshop is two hours. The first hour is spent on learning the haiku form and writing a poem, and in the second hour participants illustrate their poem in a card. All materials are provided.

Guys and Dolls

The Theatre Company of Saugus will present Guys and Dolls, the classic American musical about gamblers and their girlfriends. With music and lyrics by Frank Loesser, book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows, based on stories by Damon Runyon, the show was first produced in 1955. It won the Tony award for Best Musical, and has been revived on Broadway several times. Set in a mythical New York City, this oddball romantic comedy is considered by many to be the "perfect musical comedy" (Daily News). Variety said "One of the funniest and most melodious shows in seasons. Everything about it seems practically perfect." The famous musical numbers in the show include the romantic ballads "I'll Know" and "I've Never Been in Love Before"; the burlesque numbers "A Bushel and a Peck" and "Take Back Your Mink"; the comic songs "Adelaide's Lament" and "Marry the Man Today"; and the big chorus dances "Lucky Be a Lady" and "Sit Down, You're Rockin' the Boat".
