Captain Laurel Seaborn, PhD Candidate, University of New Hampshire, Adjunct Professor, Salem State University, and Co-founder of SEAMAHP (Seafaring Education and Maritime Archaeological Heritage Programs) will discuss how nineteenth-century captains' wives domesticated their voyaging space, based on their personal journals and the artifacts they took with them.

Saugus Garden Club Meeting On Wednesday, November 16, 2016 the Saugus Garden Club will hold a Thanksgiving Centerpiece workshop at St. John's Episcopal Church at 256 Central Street Saugus. Refreshments and business meeting will get under way at 6:30PM and the program will begin at 7:00PM. Flowers, containers and other materials will be provided by the club. Be sure to bring scissors or clippers. There is no charge for members and $5.00 for guests. Members are encouraged to RSVP to Randy at rabber01@comcast.net or call 781-231-0877 to make sure we order enough materials. In the spirit of the season, members and guests are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to the Saugus Food Bank. Registration at 9:30, the 5K race starts at 10:00. This is a free fun run, no admittance fee, and all ages are invited to participate.
