We've posted some pictures from this past weekends' Saugus Founder's Day. They were taken both in Saugus Center and at the Saugus Iron Works.

We've posted the Saugus Founders' Day Trivia Contest answers. In spite of the rain, none went unanswered this year; in fact, they were all solved before 11:00, so they must have been too easy. We'll make them harder next year. We'll be posting some Saugus Founders' Day photos tomorrow.

The Saugus Charter Commission has asked us to post the following:

The Proposed Charter drafted by the Saugus Charter Commission is scheduled for distribution to every residential household in Saugus the week of September 14, 2009. Additional copies may be obtained in the Town Clerk's Office or in the Board of Selectmen's Office during regular business hours.

We've posted the Saugus Founders' Day Trivia Contest questions. We recommend reading them before coming to Founders' Day as some are much easier to solve online.

Many are concerned about Saugus Founders' Day in light of the expected poor weather. It's still scheduled for tomorrow, but we'll post any changes as soon as we hear of them. Also, as per usual, we'll be posting the annual trivia questions early in the morning.

All the information that we've received from the Saugus Founders' Day Committee for this year's Saugus Founders' Day is now available online. Remember too that Founders' Day weekend has traditionally been a big weekend for yard sales locally, and a lot of people will be looking online to help plan out their day. If you're having a yard sale Founders' Day weekend, don't forget to post it so that people can find it.

Saugus Founders' Day is coming up soon and as usual we'll be posting the details once they become available. Likewise we'll be posting more info on the upcoming Halloween Writing Contest in the days ahead.

The office will be closed today for the holiday. However, the Community Events Calendar, Yard Sale Calendar, and other like pages will continue to be updated.

We've posted preliminary info about this year's Halloween Ghost Story Contest, including the detailed rules. Please note that the deadline for submission this year is the 22nd, a day earlier than it was last year. As the average length of stories has increased, our judges need more reading time. We're also no longer accepting FAXed entries as they were taking us a lot longer to process.
