Chapter 1

"All right, see you later!" said Melissa. Cody croaked, "See ya, sorry." Cody coughed a few times and closed the door. Melissa sighed and started walking home. It was a full moon tonight and everything was quiet and still. Cody was Melissa's best friend. Cody invited Melissa to come sleep over his house. Even though Melissa and Cody were best friends, Melissa had a crush on him. When Melissa finally got there Cody's mom greeted her with a friendly hello as she always did. Melissa and Cody had a blast that night playing board games, eating pizza and of course, telling scary stories.

Cody was strangely good at telling scary stories. For some reason, whenever he told a story it seemed like it was actually happening at that moment! It's a shame, though, because at 11:00 that night, Cody's eyes became bloodshot, he threw up and he began to shiver. His mother instantly covered him with a blanket and said that he had the flu. Cody's Mom asked Melissa to leave because she didn't want Melissa to catch it. Melissa understood. Cody's Mom asked if Melissa needed a ride home but Melissa said "No, that's o.k. I'll walk home."

Chapter 2

When Melissa got to the bridge that was between her and Cody's house, she saw that she couldn't cross it. A big Policeman was standing in front of the bridge. "What's going on officer?" Melissa asked the cop.

"They are working on the bridge for the night." said the officer quickly. He had a low voice and his mustache made him sound muffled. Behind him, there were workers who were talking very loudly over the sound of demolition trucks hitting the bridge with their large, heavy black wrecking balls. "Little girl, you'll have to take the long way across the graveyard" he added.

Angrily, Melissa replied, "I'm not little. O.K.? I'm thirteen." So with that, she walked to the graveyard which was next to the bridge. Just before she was about to walk into the graveyard, she whispered, "I hope I get home quick." She took a big, deep breath and entered the graveyard and started walking quickly. Too bad she doesn't know what lies in the graveyard!!!

Chapter 3

After walking for about ten minutes, Melissa heard a howl then an owl began to hoot a few times, she turned and watched it fly away. "Hhheelllp me! Help me, please!" Melissa jumped and screamed in fright at the terrible cries for help. She started running as fast as she could, trying to find the exit. She then slipped on something wet. Melissa turned her face slowly to see what she slipped on. A cold shiver ran down Melissa's spine. What she had seen was blood! A trial of blood smeared up a small hill. Over her shoulder, she could see the exit. There it was, her ticket to freedom. She stood up, planning to run to the exit. but then she stopped after remembering the cries for help. She decided to follow the trail of blood to see where it lead. She slowly crept up the hill. The trail finally ended at the base of a bush. Melissa grabbed the bush, and pulled so hard that its roots easily came out of the ground. What she saw made Melissa screamed loudly. It was a man. Still. Cold. Lifeless.

Chapter 4

The man was in an ocean of blood. His body was cut up and his flesh was in pieces. The man was brutally cut open and there was flesh and blood oozing out of his stomach. But the worst part was that his eyes were cut out of his head and his hands were gone. Melissa let out a silent scream and started to run towards the exit. She tripped and screamed; standing behind her was a hairy creature that was looking at her wide eyed. Then suddenly, the creature howled to the full moon. Melissa could see that the creature of the night was a wolf strangely walking towards her on its hind legs like a human. Melissa got up on her feet and started running to the exit. The creature saw her instantly and started racing after her. It jumped into the air and landed on Melissa. She screamed and tried to break free, but couldn't. The creature raised its claw and was about to finish her off. Melissa started crying because in the creature's bloodshot eyes, she recognized that it was someone she loves very much. "Cody!" she whispered. The creature brought its claw down, cut Melissa's throat open... and she died.

The end
