The House on Killer Street

Today, I am going to write about an adventure that I had with my friends on Halloween last year. It was 8.25 PM in the evening. The sky was dark purple with streaks of red. I and my friends Sam, Yusra and Zac were going out for Halloween. We went trick or treating to 25 houses when I saw the roof of a house with two goblins and a big gargoyle on the top. We walked towards it and saw that it was an old, spooky looking house. The street was named Killer Street. We had never come this far. `We knocked on the door and an old woman opened it.

The woman had dark, green eyes and yellow hair. She wore big glasses and her nails were very long as if she had never trimmed them in her life.

The old woman said in a creepy voice, "Who are you? What do you want?" "We came here for Halloween", we replied. "Today is Halloween?" she asked in surprise "Yes, we came for candy" was our reply.

Then she yelled to someone inside. "Harry, it's time to let the spirits and goblins out!! Oh! And get some camel blood toffees for the children"

Inside the house, there was a man with a white beard and red eyes. Beside him was a wrecked sofa and in front of him was a lever. He was trying to pull the lever to open the dungeons. The old woman was growing impatient and shouted out "Just use the spell you old fool". The old man let go of the lever and said a spell. It went like this:

All the spirits and goblins May you go and wander the world But if not, come back at midnight Whence the earth shall get destroyed!!!!

We all stood there like statues. White smoke and gasses started coming out of the house. Screeching bats flew out of the house. This was followed by white ghosts with faces upside down and hanging out of the sides. Two goblins flew down from the roof. They had brown hats, green faces, big teeth and wings with holes on their backs. They filled the skies within a few minutes. The old man next turned towards us. He tried to grab us by our arms. The old woman who obviously was a witch hit us with her broom. They were trying to push us into the dungeons.

We were all locked inside a cold, wet dungeon. All of us were very scared. Then Zac said, "Where is that light coming from?"It was from a window high up. We all climbed on each other's backs. Zac in top banged his fists on the panes. The window broke and he climbed out. Then pulled me, Sam and Yusra out of the dungeon.

It was getting very late and all of us ran back to our street. It was 11.57PM. At 12 midnight, all of us sat by my window to watch the sky. The sky was black. The moon was shining. The earth did not get damaged as the spell had said. We sighed in relief and went to bed. It was the scariest and best Halloween ever!!!!!
