Founders' Day 2007 T-Shirt Giveaway

Please note that this contest is now over; the answers have been posted.

We'll be giving away a limited number of T-shirts this Founders' Day in Saugus.

"How do I get one?"

Well, this year's contest will be similar to last year's contest. You merely have to figure out the answer to a Saugus trivia question and bring that back to booth. Easy, huh?

"Where do I get the questions?"

We'll be handing out clue sheets all day at the booth. Plus, just before Founders' Day starts, we'll post a copy of the clue sheet here. There's a winner for each question; the first to answer correctly gets a free T-shirt.

"Where can I find the answers?"

The questions range in difficulty from the simple to the nigh impossible. Some answers can be found online somewhere on the site; others can be found on various plaques and memorials scattered through town; others can be found in the Saugus Public Library, a few more can be found in the just-released Saugus book, Of Time and the River.

"If there's only one winner for each question, how will I know when a particular question has already been answered?"

Throughout the day we'll be updating a master chart showing which questions have been figured out, and we'll even show the answers as they come in on a poster at the booth. If you keep tabs on what has been answered during the day, you should be able to avoid wasting time trying to figure out the answers to questions that have already been answered.

"How do I get my T-shirt?"

When you bring your answer back to the booth, we'll verify its correctness and then we'll give you your T-shirt and mark that question as answered on the booth poster.

"Is there anything else I should know?"

Not really; this whole thing is being done in a spirit of fun. If you're one of the lucky ones who manages to figure out a question and win a T-shirt, wear it with pride and a sense of accomplishment at a job well done. The questions & answers from last year's contest are still online, so you might be able to get a feel for the types of questions we're apt to ask from them.

Good luck from your friends at!
