Your Garden Will Look Different in 20 Years: Gardening in the Face of Climate Change

Join us at the Long Hill Horticultural Center for this special lecture with Scott LaFleur, Botanic Garden Director at the New England Wild Flower Society's headquarters, Garden in the Woods. LeFleur will discuss how climate change will affect gardeners: from changing the USDA plant hardiness zone map to disappearing and retreating species, your garden will look different in 20 years. LaFleur will also focus on hands-on approaches gardeners can implement to mitigate the adverse affects of traditional gardening techniques. Refreshments served at 6:30 pm. Scott LaFleur is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire horticulture program, specializing in perennials and perennial garden design. Scott joined New England Wild Flower Society as Senior Horticulturist of Garden in the Woods in 2005 and became Horticulture Director in January, 2008. Currently as Botanic Garden Director, he is curator of the plant collection and oversees facilities, visitor services, and retail services at Garden in the Woods.
