Please join us in wishing lifelong Saugonian Ryan Brown and his bride-to-be Danielle Lemieux all the best as they will be getting married this Sunday. Besides helping us out here behind the scenes from time to time (you may recognize Ryan's voice if you've ever called into Saugus.net as he has helped man the phones on more than one occasion) Ryan is also known locally as a former Town Meeting Member, and he has done volunteer work on a few different Official Town of Saugus Government sites.

We normally don't mention people's personal computer security here, but there has been such a plague of problems lately with MS-Windows computers that we felt it would be in the general interest discussing it briefly. The situation is currently so bad that even the U.S. Federal Government has posted repeated advisories. There have been dozens of security problems with MS-Windows this year alone, so if you haven't been keeping your machine properly patched, it may be being used by spammers now to send junk e-mail without your knowledge. People running Mac OS, AmigaOS, or some type of UNIX (including Linux, Solaris, etc.) will not be affected by any of these recent problems. Generally no matter what kind of computer you use, you should follow the CERT advisories and patch things that need patching (or turn things off when patches aren't available) as directed.
