The grand opening of a new public building in Saugus is happening today from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Be sure to join the Friends of Breakheart Reservation and the Department of Conservation and Recreation for the grand opening of the new Breakheart Visitors Center in Breakheart Reservation.

Quite a few events are coming up in Saugus, so be sure to keep your eyes on the events calendar. Besides the popular regular upcoming annual events like Founders' Day, Prankers Pond Day, and the Halloween Ghost Story Contest, 2004 is the 375th anniversary of the founding of the Town of Saugus, the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Saugus Historical Society, and the 50th anniversary of the restoration of the Saugus Iron Works NHS, and various special events are planned.

We've uploaded a few pictures from the Saugus Historical Society Early Aviation Exhibit which is currently (up through December 5, 2004) being held in the Saugus Historical Society house on 30 Main Street. This is a free exhibit and is open every Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 PM.

We continue to make improvements to the Saugus.net dict interface behind the scenes. In particular we've started to add a facility that will provide definitions for Saugus-specific terms like "Cliftondale", "Oaklandvale", and "Lynnhurst". We'll post more information here as it matures.
