The ShellTown site was updated today. ShellTown is one of just a few shell account providers in the local area, and it's run by Saugus.net.

The office will be closed today for the holiday. However, the Community Events Calendar and other like pages will continue to be updated.

We'll be doing some behind-the-scenes upgrades this weekend. The site will never go down, but there may be some transient periods of erratic behavior. Everything will be back to normal by Tuesday.

There is a new entry detailing the recent history of the Saugus Calendar on the Saugus LiveJournal Community Blog from an insider's view. It covers how the calendar transitioned from the Saugus Town Government to the Saugus Historical Society and discusses its past few years.

This is just a final reminder about the popular annual Saugus Historical Society Calendar. If you want a 2005 edition, you should pick it up ASAP from one of the few sites that still has copies available (like the Saugus Public Library). If you miss your chance now you'll be looking on eBay later if you want to complete your collection.

Most of the distribution sites are now running out of the annual Saugus Historical Society Calendar. It's free but supplies are limited. We're told some are still available at the Saugus Public Library; be sure to get yours while you still can. These calendars are highly collectible, and past years show up from time to time on eBay.

There have been more than the usual number of updates made to the Saugus Community Calendar lately as various groups and organizations have been finalizing their 2005 schedules. Remember that if you have software that supports the iCalendar standard, you can subscribe to the calendar for free.

There's more news about blogs today. First, the Saugonians' Personal Home Pages page has been updated and now includes a section for Saugonians' blogs. Second, we're told that any and all Saugonian LiveJournal bloggers have been invited to join the Saugus LiveJournal Community.

We've added a new feature to Saugus.net that may interest area bloggers -- the Dailies now support TrackBack. While most of the Dailies are fairly short, some of them (like the recent ones about Firefox and Thunderbird) may contain material useful for quoting on off-site blogs.
