Dailies for January of 2002

January 31, 2002

We have successfully moved all the Saugus.net web pages over to new hardware, and in fact, if you're seeing this entry, you're seeing it on the new hardware (the folks still seeing the old hardware version are seeing a different message -- it can take up to a couple days for DNS to update for people depending upon how they log into the Internet and other various factors). There will undoubtably be a few glitches as we adjust everything, so please pardon us while we remodel. At the moment the search facility is gone; it will be restored in the relative near future as we continue the transition.

The integration of the new machines is still progressing, albeit a bit more slowly than we would have liked. We apologize for the relative lack of updates here lately; pages like the Community Events Calendar and Guestbook have been hit particularly hard. There is light at the end of the tunnel though and things will resume to normal (a much faster normal) soon.

The office will be closed today in observance of the holiday; while usually pages like the Community Events Calendar will continue to be updated, today they're being held up a little so work can instead focus on the move.

The Filename Extensions List page was updated today.

January 16, 2002

If you've been wondering why we've been so quiet lately, it's because we're working on quite a few changes under the hood. We're in the process of adding a few more machines and a lot more bandwidth...

Most of the places handing out free Saugus 2002 Calendars are now out of them. If you can't find one anywhere and you're a member of the Saugus Historical Society, please give them a call as they still have a few left for members. If you find a place with some left for general distribution, let us know and we'll post it.

We've been told that many of the places handing out the Saugus 2002 Calendars are out of them, and won't be replentished as the main distribution center has also run out. See the Saugus Historical Society site for a list of places that had (and possibly still have) calendars; get your copy soon as they are not expected to last anywhere much longer.

The Friends of Breakheart Reservation site was updated today.
