Well, Saugus.net is now over one year old and we decided to do something a little different. We're going on an educational road trip to an assortment of Civil War battle fields, and we'll be sending information back nightly so that everyone will be able to see what we do pretty close to when we do and hopefully learn something along with us. Saugus Historical Society Vice President Darren Brown will be providing commentary. The first installment covers Gettysburg and is online now.

We've finally gotten the search facilities settled down with all the new capabilities fully functional. There's been an update to the Industry page today. Also, while it may look like things have been quiet here lately, we've been in the process of doing numerous infrastructure improvements. More work will be done this weekend, and there may even be some weekend updates depending on how much we can get done.

In addition to fixing these quirks, over the next couple of days we'll add in a help page for the search facilities and point out some of the new features.

We're working on the search facilities right now; they won't be working properly for a little while.

The Annual Saugus Town Meeting started last night. It was the first time in around thirty years that Town Meeting was able to take place in the Town Hall. A handful of past Town Moderators were on-hand to celebrate the occurrence. Several articles were started and tabled; Article 3 covering supplementary appropriations for fiscal 1999 salaries, expense accounts, and surplus revenue (a.k.a. free cash) passed 35 - 8.
