The office will be closed today and tomorrow for the Thanksgiving holiday. However, the Saugus Community Events Calendar, Saugus Forums, and other like pages will continue to be updated. The forums in particular have had quite a bit of activity lately, so if you haven't checked them out recently you should do so. The Saugus political forum especially has gotten interesting with the recent elections, but other forums like Saugus miscellaneous education forum and even the general Saugus miscellaneous forum have gotten a few posts here and there.

The Filename Suffixes List was updated today.

More photographs of winners of the eighth annual Halloween Story Contest were added today. We'll add any additional photographs we receive as we get them.

The Free Software Guide was updated today.

It looks like we wrote off the yard sale season in the Saugus area a little too soon. In spite of the fact that we've already had snow, there have been a few postings of new yard sales and garage sales to the Yard Sales Calendar since we removed it from the sidebar.

The Saugus High School Alumni site was updated today.

We've been working behind the scenes on some upgrades to the Saugus Search Facility. Many of the changes won't be immediately apparent; however, the indexing of e-books has been much improved, and a Google search option has been added for those who would prefer to use it in lieu of the normal Saugus search system.

Quite a bit more information (including a couple photographs) about the winners of the eighth annual Ghost Story Contest was added today. We'll continue to add new information as we receive it.

With all the updates lately related to both the elections in Saugus and the Halloween Contest, there have been some recent updates made to the Free Software Guide that we have not yet mentioned.

We've started to post local election results. We'll continue to add details throughout the night.

Today is election day. Don't forget to check out the "Questions to the Candidates" and the Saugus political forum before voting. If you don't know where to vote you can use the precinct and election location look-up form on the Saugus Town Clerk's Office site.

Tomorrow is election day. Don't forget to check out the "Questions to the Candidates" before voting to see how the people interested in representing you answered your questions (if they even bothered to answer -- and if they didn't, that says something too, of course -- if you're a candidate who has not yet answered, we'll continue to post answers through the election tomorrow, but the sooner you get your responses in the more people will see them). There has also been a lot of activity lately on the Saugus political forum as people discuss election issues and an article discussing the election and its online influences on the Saugus blog.

This is the final weekend prior to the election, so if you're a candidate don't forget to submit your responses to the "Questions to the Candidates" as soon as possible to ensure the maximum readership of your answers.
