The 2012 Historic Saugus Calendar has been sent to the printer.

The 2012 Historic Saugus Calendar went through a bit more proofing than we expected, but is now getting its final tweaks before going to the printer. Printing will start soon.

The Saugus Area Transportation Information page was updated today.

The office will be closed today and tomorrow for the Thanksgiving holiday. However, the Saugus Community Events Calendar and other like pages will continue to be updated.

The 2012 Historic Saugus Calendar is now being proofed. We expect the final version will be going to the printer as soon as tomorrow, but no later than this coming Monday.

Today is Election Day in Saugus. Be sure to get out and vote! Also be sure to check out the "Questions to the Candidates" as there are (so far, we'll update further if any more come in) some responses in the Selectmen, Housing Authority, and Town Meeting sections.

Surprisingly only two responses have come in so far for our regular "Questions to the Candidates" feature -- one for Selectman, and one for Housing Authority. We'll try and get any additional ones that come in immediately listed.

Candidates have started submitting their answers to the "Questions to the Candidates". We will be processing them as quickly as we can, even through the weekend.

At this stage, all candidates for Selectman, School Committee, and Housing Authority should have gotten their official notifications about this year's "Questions to the Candidates". As always, their individual participation is voluntary, and Town Meeting candidates are welcome to submit answers, too.

We've updated our popular Ghost Story Contest Statistics page to show the latest standings of schools, towns, and states. Of especial local interest is that with their sweep, Veterans Memorial Elementary School has pulled even with Oaklandvale Elementary School as the elementary school with the most wins in the history of the contest. This year we also got (somewhat surprisingly) our first winner from nearby Boston.

We'll be posting more details later as we try to get in touch with all the winners, but a couple of highlights from this year's Ghost Story Contest include the fact that none of the three leading high schools won this year in their category, but the local Veterans Elementary School came back after an extended dry spell to sweep their category.
