Today is Election Day in Saugus. Be sure to get out and vote! Also be sure to check out the "Questions to the Candidates" as there are (so far, we'll update further if any more come in) some responses in the Selectmen, Housing Authority, and Town Meeting sections.

November 7, 2011

Surprisingly only two responses have come in so far for our regular "Questions to the Candidates" feature -- one for Selectman, and one for Housing Authority. We'll try and get any additional ones that come in immediately listed.

Candidates have started submitting their answers to the "Questions to the Candidates". We will be processing them as quickly as we can, even through the weekend.

As always, their individual participation is voluntary, and Town Meeting candidates are welcome to submit answers, too.

We've updated our popular Ghost Story Contest Statistics page to show the latest standings of schools, towns, and states. Of especial local interest is that with their sweep, Veterans Memorial Elementary School has pulled even with Oaklandvale Elementary School as the elementary school with the most wins in the history of the contest. This year we also got (somewhat surprisingly) our first winner from nearby Boston.

November 1, 2011

We'll be posting more details later as we try to get in touch with all the winners, but a couple of highlights from this year's Ghost Story Contest include the fact that none of the three leading high schools won this year in their category, but the local Veterans Elementary School came back after an extended dry spell to sweep their category.
