We've now started to post the winners in our sixth annual Halloween Ghost Story Contest. We'll be continuing to post them throughout the night, category by category. This year's contest was more competitive than last year's in every category.

This is just a reminder about tonight's "Black Cat Café" Teen Coffeehouse event at the Saugus Public Library; all teenaged entrants of the Saugus.net Halloween Ghost Story Contest are invited to come share their stories.

Since the deadline for our sixth annual Halloween Ghost Story Contest has passed, any additional submissions that now arrive will automatically be held for next year.

Special Update:

If you try to FAX a story and get a busy signal, please just keep trying, or use an alternative like e-mail. We've been getting a lot of entries FAXed in during the day. Also, please don't forget to include your age category with your entry.

The Saugus Public Library is inviting all Middle School and High School entrants of the Saugus.net Halloween Ghost Story Contest to share their stories at their "Black Cat Café" Teen Coffeehouse event on the 29th. More information is available on the Community Events Calendar.

Highlights of last night's Saugus Special Town Meeting include the passing of an article to add a section to the by-laws regulating business establishment hours of operation (passed with just three votes against) and an article to rezone a lot on the corner of Denver and Talbot Streets to allow housing for the elderly under the jurisdiction of the Saugus Housing Authority (passed unanimously).

This is just a reminder about our sixth annual Halloween Ghost Story Contest. The final deadline for submissions is 11:59 PM on Sunday the 26th of October.

Please join us in congratulating Saugus.net founder and president Eric Brown and his wife Nhung on the birth of their new daughter. Little Ariana Brown was born shortly after 6:00 PM yesterday and weighed in at 7 pounds 10 ounces.

Also, we apologize to anyone who tried calling late afternoon yesterday; we closed a little early due to the above.

October is here and we've already received entries for our sixth annual Halloween Ghost Story Contest. Please remember that we'll always e-mail a message back to you letting you know that we received your entry if you e-mail or FAX it (and provide us with a working return e-mail address, of course). If we don't get back to you within a couple business days, please contact us and let us know; it's not unheard of for FAXed entries to get eaten or e-mail entries to get temporarily delayed in the ether.
